Paros has everything you could want from a trip to the Greek Islands. Friendly Greek people, delicious seaside cuisine, unique beaches, fun towns, beautiful sunsets and much more. Wondering what to do in Paros? We have what you need.
Where is the island of Paros, Greece?

Walking on the island of Paros

Paros is a beautiful island in the Cyclades group of Greek islands. It’s quieter than nearby Mykonos and Santorini, but sees a small portion of tourists, though it still has idyllic stone streets and whitewashed buildings.

It is best known for its beautiful beaches and traditional villages and is one of the best places to visit in Greece. Paros can be easily reached by ferry from Mykonos, Naxos, Ios, Sifnos, Amorgos and many other Greek destinations, making it the perfect place to follow your Greek island itinerary.

The best things to do in Paros Island, Greece

Drinking coffee in Parikia

Most visitors to Paros will pass through Parikia, the island’s capital. Parikia is home to the island’s ferry terminal and many restaurants and cafes. It’s not my favorite town in Paros, but well worth a stroll around and a nice Greek latte.
If you want to visit a bank or a big supermarket, Parikia is the place to go. This is also where you’ll find car rental companies, which is a great way to get around Paros, but can learn more about that later!

Walk around Lefkes

Visiting the small town of Lefkes is one of my favorite things to do in Paros. Lefkes is a mountain town that can no longer become Greek if it tries. This town is 11 km from Parikia and was the capital of Paros in the Middle Ages. It has only 500 inhabitants, but some nice shops, Greek pubs and cafes. It’s an easy place to spend an afternoon exploring! The Church of Agia Triada is the main church and focal point of the village, but you’ll have to walk through a maze of traditional Greek streets to get there. Interesting!

Sunbathe on Golden Beach

Of course, going to the beaches of Paros is one of the best things to do in Paros. Golden Beach is a famous beach on the island, taking its name from its 700-meter stretch of fine golden sand. It has fairly windy conditions, which means it’s great for kitesurfing and windsurfing. Like many other Greek beaches, it is a blue flag beach and is famous for its beauty.

Enjoy the small town of Aliki

When we were in Paros for the month we stayed in the small town of Aliki. It was the perfect base because it was quiet, beautiful, and provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The town of Aliki, which means “salt marsh” in Greek, has some good Greek taverns, a few shops and a small beach to relax in. It is also home to the Museum of Cycladic Folklore.

Relax on Faragas

Ocean Rocks

Right behind Aliki is the small Faragas beach. Faragas is an uncrowded and quiet beach that offers visitors a great place to relax and soak in the Mediterranean. There are beach chairs run by Faragas Beach Bar, or you can choose to bring your towels and relax in the sand. The beach bar also offers cocktails and pizza for lunch!

Soak up the vibe in Naoussa

Naousa is by far the most beautiful town on the island, and sightseeing is one of the best things to do in Paros. We visited Naoussa three times during our trip to Paros. Once a day, once for sunset and once for dinner, and each experience is special and different.
Located in the northeast of the island, Naousa is a unique, colorful and interesting fishing village that you can visit at any time. There are plenty of beachfront restaurants, sunset bars, shopping, and anything else you could possibly want.

It’s fun to walk around during the day, and at night the area quickly transforms into the island’s upmarket village. This is the most sought after place in Paros and the most expensive. With that said, we still had a great time not staying in Naousa and traveling for a couple of special meals.

Take the ferry to Antiparos

Antiparos Ferry

Antiparos is the small neighboring island of Paros. It’s not very well known on the Greek islands radar, but well worth a day trip from Paros! A five-minute ferry ride will bring you to the small island. Once there, you can explore the beautiful town of Chora, adventure to the many beaches or explore the caves of Antiparos. If you want to spend the night in Antiparos, the only town to do so is Chora. Other options are to rent a car and venture to some of the island’s villas and cottages.

Also, this island is the location Tom Hanks has a tour home. Maybe you’ll spot him and his wife, Rita Wilson, if you’re there at the suited time. Although he is well-loved and blanketed with the resource of locals so don’t feel you’ll discover out the area he lives easily.

If you’re searching to do a little purchasing even as visiting Paros, this is great finished in Naousa or on Antiparos. These two areas have many boutique stores the vicinity you can discover Greek manufactured apparel gadgets and souvenirs.

Sit Back And Enjoy A Frappe Or Fredo Cappuccino

My favorite trouble to do in Greece, in general, is to sit down back, relax, order a Frappe (blended Greek coffee), and watch lifestyles go by. You can do this in any of the towns, and I pretty endorse the journey at least once.

Cliff Jump At Ambelas Beach

Ambelas is every other gorgeous Greek seaside to go to even as on Paros. It’s small and secluded alternatively go until now in day to maintain away from the shade. There’s moreover a extremely good cliff leaping spot if you’re into that. You can see Cameron leaping in the picture above.

Eat All The Greek Food

One of my appreciated matters to do in Paros and all of Greece for that depend is go to the nearby supermarket, pick up some wine, feta, tzatziki, and olives and enjoy by the beach during sunset.

Who says you have to go out to a restaurant every and each and every night? Some of the most memorable nights for me have been when we obtained our personal ingredients and cherished a night time in. It’s less high-priced and a suitable way to devour like the Greeks!
