Where is Albania?
Should you ever tell your friends that you’re visiting Albania, in fact their first reaction will be to ask where is Albania? That is actually okay. As a result it’s the perfect reason to beat the crowds soon to learn about this hidden gem in the Mediterranean despite being less populated with tourists.
Before the Crowds
Several people are unfamiliar about Albania its background along with its location, as a result its less traveled. That is unfortunate because Albania is such a beautiful country and has many sites to be yet discovered be that as it may. Albania until recently wasn’t on travelers lists of excitement for a destination vacation and this makes it the perfect time to venture here before the crowds.
Hence, Albania can be the exotic place to take your next winter or summer vacation coupled with being in the middle of the Mediterranean at a much cheaper cost. Due to Albania bordering Montenegro to the north, Macedonia to the east, and Greece in the south, for that reason Albania has something to say and do for all travelers.
Coast Line of Albania
Albania has a coast beside the Adriatic Sea and has a coast to the Lonian sea in the southwest. Thus, giving the beach-loving sun seeker plenty of opportunities to find that perfect hidden location from the crowds to rid the tan lines of more crowded well-known spots in Europe. Albania’s climate along with the sea offers extremely hot summers.
In the north Albania consist mostly of hilly and mountainous terrain for the most part many hikers venture north to hike Theth and Valbonia National Parks. A paradise for hikers who have a venture for high altitude hiking even though the mountains are breathe taking from their majestic view sights to steep trails having hikers wheeze for fresh oxygen. Korab, therefore, is the highest mountain. It’s in the district of Dibra which reaches heights of up to 2,753 m (about the height of Mount St. Helens), just to give you an idea of how high sky is high.
The Capital
The capital city is Tirana, which has a population of about a half a million people. It is still a small and quickly growing city, still much like it has been since the 1990’s breakaway into independence. The city keeps its charm and culture of coffee shops and cafes.
So, make Albania your next destination for your get away and be surprised by the friendly people and hospitality of this region. Not only will you leave surprised, relaxes but not breaking the bank.
