Vilas Worth Checking-In When On A Budget

Need something that isn’t going to kill the daily budget and keep you traveling longer? There are several alternatives to choose from, in fact maybe to many. Here are a few that we stayed at while in Ubud and Amed Beach.

Bali Dream Resort & Spa – Ubud

This is where Julia and I stayed during our time in Ubud and we will always go back to this location. We really enjoyed the location as well as the feel of the property. Nestled back into the jungle like atmosphere with manicured tropical flowers and palm trees you know you were on vacation. The best part for me was the second floor balconies over looking the surrounding area full of palm trees. It was like a resort in the jungle and away from the hustle of Ubud.

Bali Dream Resort Ubud offers cozy accommodations with an outdoor swimming pool, an on-site restaurant and free Wi-Fi access in all areas of the property. Located in Penestanan Ubud area, it takes about a 5-minute walk to the famous Antonio Blanco Museum, and about a 5-minute drive to Ubud Centre and Ubud Monkey Forest.

All rooms at Bali Dream Resort has a flat-screen TV with cable channels. Certain rooms feature a seating area to relax in after a busy day. A terrace or balcony are featured in certain rooms. Every room is fitted with a private bathroom.

The property has two pools. This being the second and great for Instagram photos.

The facilities and services provided by Bali Dream Resort Ubud ensure a pleasant stay for guests. A selection of top-class facilities such as free Wi-Fi in all rooms, 24-hour front desk, express check-in/check-out, Wi-Fi in public areas, room service can be enjoyed at the hotel.

Gusti Kaler House – Ubud

Prefer a location walkable to central Ubud without the need of a scooter? This location could be the perfect balance between being away for the crowds and walking to coffee shops and local restaurants. This is a family owned small vila style location with a few options for everyones needs. Some rooms offer basic needs for a nights rest and some offer small outside kitchens for longer stays.

Our friend Jenny stayed here for 5 months and enjoyed everyday of it.

Anugerah Villas 2- Amed Beach

This was our home during the 5 months we lived on Bali Island during the pandemic. We often travelled between here and Ubud to visit friends. The travel time from Ubud to here takes about 2-3 hours dependent on traffic. Remember, we lived here while there were no tourists on the island. I have no idea what it would be like once the tourist are back. I bet it could be 3-4 hours.

Google Maps doesn’t always provide the correct routes on Bali Island. So make sure routes make sense and try to stay on the main road if you aren’t familiar with the area. Google maps will send you up mountains with dead ends. Waste of time on what you think would be a short-cut.

We really enjoyed this location because of its location between the mountains and immediate area. It is not often traveled and gives you access to visiting the famous temple Pura Pasa Agung Lempuyang by going over the backside of the mountain which was fun on a scooter. It has some smaller rice terraces and small villages near by. I can not over sell this location and we really enjoyed our time here and will return once again.

A good sunrise and sunset spot that is becoming more well know is Lahangan Sweet. This you can access by scooter or if you arrive by car, you can walk the narrow trail the last 300 meters. Also Amed and Lipah Beach are great diving spots and I will write more about that in another article.

Ocean Resort – Amed Bali

First arriving to Amed Beach we stayed a few days here at this hotel until it closed for the pandemic. We really enjoyed this hotel because of its balcony and the panorama view of the ocean. The morning breakfast were perfect as well to eat and watch the sunrise over the horizon.

Tauch Terminal Resort – Tulamben

We were lucky to have been the guest of this resort for a few days just before it closed down for the pandemic. This is reserved mostly by German or European guests for diving expeditions. I can also high suggest this location for the ease of diving and relaxing over looking the beach.
