Vanilla Beach

The first beach we went to was Vanilla Beach. Vanilla beach is located in about 15 minutes outside of El Nido. You can come by tuk tuk for about 150 pesos. The best thing to do is probably to rent a scooter for the day. You can park your scooter at McDonalds for free and walk straight to the beach. From McDonalds you will go through the mall area with outdoor restaurants and cafes and the beach will be right there in front of you. If you want to see the sunset you should walk along the beach for about 400 meters. It is a great spot for the sunset with many great restaurants.

Vanilla Beach Tips

We suggest you reserve a table the day before at the restaurant Las Cabanas. Come there an hour before the sunset and enjoy your dinner with the view. As for the swimming, you have to be careful, because there are a lot of rocks and you can easily hurt yourself. If you want to sunbathe, it is a nice place to spend a couple hours. You can rent a chair from the Las Cabanas restaurant in advance, have lunch and a drink, and relax. We think Vanilla Beach is the best beach for the sunset.

Nacpan Beach

The next beach we went to was the Nacpan Beach. Beaches in El Nido are the most beautiful in the world. Nacpan Beach is definitely a must visit place. It is one of our favorite beaches with its white sand, mesmerizing blue waters, and the perfect temperature. Our goal for the day was to explore the many beaches, we did not spend much time there. We wanted to go further along the coast before the sun goes down.

Our Experience At Nacpan Beach

After spending about an hour there we got a bit bored, because there was not much to do and we forgot our snorkeling masks. We don’t really like spending all day at the beach anyways, so, we had lunch there at one of the small restaurants. The beach restaurants are really small and they don’t have names. After a quick lunch we continued our ride to the next beach. TIPS: Entering the beach you will have to provide some basic information about you and pay $1 per person. We recommend you look out for the turn, because the sign is not very noticeable and the first time we just passed by it.

Duli Beach

Duli Beach is about a 45-minute scooter ride from El Nido. You have to go towards Nacpan Beach, but you pass it and then you will see some signs pointing to the left, to Duli Beach. From there you will have to drive on a dirt road for about 10 minutes until you reach this beach. You will go through the same process as in Nacpan Beach. Next you will have to provide some basic information about you and pay $1 per person. It is a pretty cool beach, we are recommending it if you are a surfer checking out the best beach to crush the waves.

Our Experience at Duli Beach

We found out that Duli Beach has 7 months per year nice waves and it’s pretty much secluded. They do have a small shop on the beach where you can rent a surf board, if you don’t have one, you will see the shop right away. We are not surfers, but we really enjoyed our time at the beach, we took some photos, played with the waves and relaxed. We spent about 2 hours there, but we would definitely spend more time if we were not beach hopping that day. There is a nice little restaurant on the beach, also without a name, which served us perfect tuna sandwiches. Our ride continues.

Dagmay Beach

Another beach that we think is one of the best is Dagmay Beach. It is located about 2 km from Duli Beach. You will have to drive on a dirt road for a while, so be prepared. We loved the ride and had a lot of fun. Right before the beach entrance there is a local shop, where you can get a drink or a snack, they even rent rooms for the night. The parking and the entrance is free. When you enter the beach you can go to the left and find some shade by the rocks.

Our Experience At Dagmay Beach

We loved this beach because you can hide in the shade if you are too hot or if you are at the beach in the middle of the day as we were. If you also want to get away from the crowed places, this beach is for you. We stayed here for about two hours, but you can easily spend the whole day here. TIPS: There is a hidden beach nearby. If you go further around the rocks to the left, you’ll find yourself at another small beach with no people at all. It is a perfect place for a photoshoot. Here you can see the magnificent view of the sunset and a small rock island just off shore.

Lio Beach

Lio Beach is the beach that located about 30 minutes from the city. It is still partly under construction. In the future it will be a part of a beautiful resort. They are still building some roads and working on the buildings. It looks like a pretty cool place. We didn’t spend any time here, we just checked out the view for the future trip. We liked that the beach has both sunshine and share, they also have a couple of restaurants on the beach. While you are on the beach you have a huge mountain out in the distance.

Verde Safari

In our opinion Verde Safari is the best beach in El Nido, and not because there are many things to do, no, vice verse, there is nothing there, no restaurants, no rentals, no people. To get to Verde Safari beach you will need to go towards Dagmay Beach, then you will see the signs that will show you the way to the beach. The roads are not in a good condition. When you get to the village you may get lost and not find a turn, in this case ask the locals, they will happily show you the way. It seems that there was a guest house owned by an American, but not anymore. The building is completely empty. Verde Safari beach is the place you want to be if you are looking for a quality time with your significant other only.

Our Experience at Verde Safari Beach

When we got to the beach, there was no one there, so we had the whole beach completely to ourselves. We went to the right side by the rocks, Jesse got nude and I got topless and we jumped into that crystal-clear water. We were lucky, the waves were big enough and we had a lot of fun. It is a paradise place with tons of beautiful palm trees, sea, and mountains. What else do you need? The beach is quite long, we were able to drive the scooter on the beach. TIPS: As I mentioned above, there are no shops or restaurants on the beach, bring some food and water with you, so you can spend enough time here with your loved one.

Here is the list of the beaches that we loved. Hope you will find the best one for you. Enjoy your El Nido vacation, have fun and let us know what was your favorite beach. See you in the next blog.
