Do you start your day with coffee too? If yes, we know that this article will be for you. Traveling around the world we always look for new coffee places and pick our favorites. When we arrived to Albania, we learned right away that they serve coffee here in a little different fashion as we (westerners) used to.
When I ordered coffee latte it appeared to be basically a glass of milk and a drop of coffee. But that is how they make latte in Albania. Locals drink coffee day and night, they like to sit at a coffee place and have an espresso. Later on we learned how to order coffee that we like and that tastes similar to what we used to. Ready? When you order you have to say: “Can I please have a cappuccino with coffee?” Yes, it may sound ridiculous to you, but that is the way to have a nice cup of delicious cappuccino. Here are top 9 coffee shops that we liked in Sarande.
Jerico Cocktail Bar
Jericho Cocktail Bar. This cafe is our favorite place to have coffee. When you first walk into the cafe you instantly feel the beach vibe with the open ceilings and wooden beams. The combination of white and blue colors add on to the atmosphere. The few times we came here, there was always a good variety of music playing as well.
Sometimes Jesse and I would just come here for the music. The view, wow! From the cafe you can overlook the boardwalk below or look out towards Corfu Island. It gives you a really good 180-degree view all around. The most desired spot we discovered is directly in the right corner of the cafe. From here you could see all that is going on inside the cafe and the view outside towards the beach. I suggest having coffee here anytime of the day, but early sunset was our favorite time of the day. We could see the sky changing colors moment to moment. Jesse really liked to order Fredo Kapucino because of its fancy look, and I enjoyed a cappuccino. We highly recommend this cafe for you to visit.
Hard Rock Cafe
2. Hard Rock Cafe. This is another cafe that we enjoy coming to have a cup of coffee. Walking in the cafe you will notice how spacious it is, and you will have a great variety of sitting area. You can choose to sit inside, outside on the soft and comfortable couch or at the table even closer to the water. Cafe is located by the water, looking towards the sun. That is why coming here about an hour before the sunset may be the best time.
We always have important conversations at this cafe while the sun goes down. I always order cappuccino, they make it in such a way, and I do not need to add sugar. Jesse loves their Fredo Kapucino. The waiter always serves coffee for Jesse in different fancy glasses. They always play great upbeat music and this is another reason why we come here so often.
Bar Restaurant La Banana
Bar Restaurant La Banana. Walking in this place you feel like you found an oasis. Then you sit down at the table look around and see big banana trees all around with white and blue colors for decor. This brings you some place in the middle of the jungle mixed with Mediterranean vibe while enjoying your morning coffee. At this cafe we both ordered a cappuccino and waiter got creative with it. They added chocolate design of the sunshine for Jesse and smiley face for me.
